Chancel Choir
The Chancel Choir sings at the traditional 8:30am and 11:00am services. They also prepare for— and perform— a Christmas Cantata, and special music for our Holy Thursday Tenebrae Service. The choir rehearses on Wednesday evenings from 7:30 pm until 9:00 pm. Elaine Coker is our choir director. HOW CAN I GET INVOLVED? Contact Elaine Coker at 919-553-6464.
Handbell Choir
The Handbell Choir provides music at the traditional 8:30 and 11:00 services. They also prepare for — and perform — special music for various community gatherings (especially during December). The Handbell Choir rehearses on Wednesday evenings from 6:30 pm until 7:30 pm. Elaine Coker is the director. HOW CAN I GET INVOLVED? Contact Elaine Coker at 919-553-6464.
CrossWalk Ministry Team
The CrossWalk Ministry Team leads the people of Horne's contemporary service, Ecclesia, in songs of praise and worship to our Father. This group of committed disciples comes together weekly on Thursday evenings from 7:00-9:00 for prayer, fellowship, and practice. Musical gifts are important, but more importantly, are worshipful hearts. Godly character is critical for anyone desiring to be involved in worship ministry. We are always on the lookout for people who play instruments and sing. Auditions are required, but reading music is not a necessity. There are also opportunities for media and graphic technicians and sound reinforcement technicians. CrossWalk Ministry Team also leads worship outside our church home.
CrossWalk Singers
Men and women who love to sing are welcome to audition! Flexibility and a good ear are essential.
CrossWalk Band
Guitars, bass guitars, keyboards, drums, and percussion are the instruments of The CrossWalk Band. We also use other band instruments on occasion. So, if you play the trumpet, flute, violin, or euphonium, there’s a place for you here too! Audition required.
CrossWalk Multimedia/Video
Under the direction of the Multimedia/Video Technology Team Leader, a presentation is prepared for each worship service. The presentation software that we use is MediaShout. These team members serve a vital role and their hard work and dedication in preparing media presentations greatly enhance the visual aspect of our service of worship.
CrossWalk Sound Reinforcement
The Sound Reinforcement Team members keep everything “sounding good”. Sound technicians serve on a rotating basis. A basic training session is required for all sound technicians. HOW CAN I GET INVOLVED? Contact Jo Anne Swartz at joanne.swartz(at)horneumc.net.
Declaration!
Declaration (Youth Praise Team) will meet Sunday, September 13, 2009 from 5 PM-6:30 PM. 7th grade youth and older who like to sing or play an instrument are welcome to attend. Come join us!

The Youth Praise Team
The Youth Praise Team called "Declaration" is open to all young people, grades seven through twelve, who would like to share their talents with the congregation. Musical gifts are wonderful, but we value hearts that love God and want to sing His praises!
Youth Praise Team Singers
The Singers are comprised of young men and women who have a heart for singing and leading in worship. Prior musical experience is a plus. It is not necessary to be able to read music, but a good ear is important.
Youth Praise Team Band

So, if you play the trumpet, violin, flute, saxophone, or any other “band” instrument, please come forward! Music lessons are offered (but space is limited) for those youth of our church who want to contribute by playing guitar, bass guitar, or drums in The Youth Praise Team Band.
