Campus Ministries Opportunity
If you would like to participate in the spring semester "adopt a student" ministry, please stop by the parlor and select a heart from the tree. Getting to know one of these bright young individuals will be very rewarding for both you and them! If you participated in the fall, you might be tempted to select the same student; but I encourage you to make a new friend by selecting a different name for this semester.
Be sure to pick up a sheet that contains the simple, suggested guidelines for participating. An assortment of greeting cards is also available underneath the tree.
If you don't choose a student for the spring semester, remember that you can still participate in this important ministry by praying for each and every one of them. They need our prayers!

To a Loving and Generous Horne Memorial:
Many thanks to all of you who "adopted" a college student during the fall semester. I am certain that your cards, prayers and care packages were appreciated and enjoyed by our many students pursuing their higher education goals this fall.
Be on the lookout for a shiny tree in the parlor in late January. This will be your opportunity to select a DIFFERENT student for the spring semester. Don't be discouraged by the thoughts of abandoning your new-found college friend that you made in the fall! You can, of course, continue to send them cards of encouragement and pray for them. However, by selecting a NEW student for the spring semester, you will reap the rewards of making a new connection with one of our other students and expand your circle of hip college friends...it's a great way to be doubly blessed!
I am sure they look forward to receiving your cards and hearing that you are praying for them....they have told me so! I have received emails from many of them telling me just how much it means on a busy day, away from the comforts of home, in their stressful world of academia to receive a note of encouragement from Horne Memorial. They need our continued love and support!
