2010 Leadership Team
Equipping Ministry Team: This team is comprised of the SPRC, Lay Leadership Team, and Equipping Team. Members work to provide leadership and leadership training for the ministry of the church. Team Leader: Diane Snyder at dksnyder(at)earthlink.net.
Front Door Team: This team is responsible for creating a good first impression at Horne Memorial United Methodist Church. Members of this team focus on parking and ushering—being made to feel welcome when one comes to church services and events. Team Leader: Jason Grooms.
Missions Team: This team coordinates the missionary work of our church: locally, nationally, and internationally. Team Leader: Scott Worrell at scottb.worrell(at)gsk.com
Outreach Team: This team gets the word out that God loves all people and that He desires to spend an eternity with them. All people are welcomed at our church. Team Leader: Gigi Nelson.
Congregational Care Team: This team works with our Stephen Ministers to train our members in caring for our church family and community. Team members provide transportation to doctors, assistance during the illness or death of a loved one, and assistance during a family or personal crisis. Team Leader: Richard Hartman.
Stewardship Team: This team develops and implements a year-round plan of education for living a life of stewardship. Team members work with the Resource Team to plan the annual budget preparation and adoption. Team Leader: Grant Warren at philwarren@nc.rr.com.
Communications Team: This team gathers and updates information about church activities and then prepares specific venues by which to disseminate this information: website, fliers, brochures, press releases, posters, bulletin boards. Team members provide writing, editing, media, graphic arts, and technical assistance to all teams and groups in the church family.
Media Team Leader: This team provides the technical oversight for visual media, computer software, and Media Shout during the Contemporary Service. Team Leader: Gary Brace at ecarb.g(at)embarqmail.com.
Worship Leader: This team oversees the planning and execution of our weekly worship services and special services. Team Leader: JoAnne Swartz at joanne.swartz(at)gmail.com.
Discipleship Team: This team directs and guides the work of the Sunday School, the small group ministry, Bible studies, and special studies. Its focus is to equip and train followers of Christ for ministry. Team Leader: Laurie Lee. As of Jan., 2010: Marion Young at 418-3985 or marionyoung50@gmail.com.
Finance Team: This team provides resources (money, space, facilities, equipment, etc.) for the work of ministry. Members of this team include the Finance Committee and the Trustees. Team Leader: Finance Chair, Philip Culpepper at pculpepper(at)nc.rr.com.
